I finished the right front on the Sanquar check vest and am now working on the back. I finished the decreases for it and now have about 7 pattern repeats to go to finish the back...then I'll start the left front, put the thing together & knit on the trim & block & it'll be done. I'm guessing about another week's worth of work? The right front went together while the Dallas Stars clobbered the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Hopefully the Stars will be able to do it again & even out the playoff series. Normally the Stars own the Ducks when they play one another, it's weird that they lost two games to them during playoffs... we'll see what happens! The Stars were back in good playing form on Saturday and hopefully they will STAY that way! After I finish the Sanquar check vest, I'll work on socks during TV time & anytime I need a mindless project. I have a pair of Fortissima Cityline Pink socks on the needles that I need to finish...both are toe up & one is almost ready for the heel turning & the toe of the other one has recently been finished. I also have Harrison's Eskimo socks & will need to start 2 pairs of socks for the twins & hope to get all their socks done in time for Crazy Socks day at school next fall. I'll take some photos soon... a Sanquar update, plus the alphabet inkle band & the socks. Meanwhile, here are some old photos of the cityline pink & eskimo socks...they are much further along than these photos show: Yesterday, our neighbors plowed a garden for us... our soil is a heavy clay soil...maybe I should find out how to process some of the stuff to sell to potters? I took a couple of ceramics classes in college, didn't really like it except for playing, so I doubt you'll see me showing off pots on my blog! I'd rather knit or weave...haven't done any drawing in several years & I don't think I'll go back to printmaking (which was my major). I have trouble with the chemicals & inks... anyway, what we'll do with the garden is put on some leaves (we have PLENTY) and rake them in & hopefully we'll be able to plant by the end of the week. We're supposed to be getting some rain every afternoon this week & that will help as well... The mama guinea is still sitting on her eggs..maybe around mid-month we'll see baby guineas & we'll probably try to move them into the chicken coop to hopefully increase their chances of survival... last fall we had some baby guineas from this pair and the neighbor's dog got them...
