Friday, May 09, 2003 ( 12:24 AM ) Jessica Since my last entry, the Stars have been eliminated from the Stanley Cup play offs...bummer...after the last game, I really thought that they would win game 6 and go on to game 7...maybe next year..Something about that game ticked me off: the last game was at the Duck's home ice stadium & they wouldn't play the national anthem because it had the word "Stars" in it...how picayune is that? Gimme a break! ARrrrRRggggh! They'll play the winner of the Minnesota/Vancouver playoffs... Today we watched Survivor Amazon & I'm glad Heidi got eliminated... it's been long coming.... I was upset that Christy got eliminated last week, but she kind of put the nail in the coffin when Rob asked her to vote against Heidi & she wouldn't commit to it... I did not blame her One Single Bit for how she responded to Heidi when she asked her to vote against Rob...I mean, during the whole series, the Evil Stepsisters were basically ignoring Christy & overall, she was a good hard worker, but was pretty neutral & once she became a threat, she got outvoted... oh wellll...I'm glad she'll be on the jury though! I managed to do a half a repeat on the back of Sanquar tonite during Survivor Amazon...didn't get much done during Gilmore Girls on Tuesday because Reuven was all over me & I really didn't want to knit with my elbow in the air while he nursed. I'm slowly gathering the yarns needed to do Gary's Tattoo sweater (from Annabel Fox's "Willow Lake"... I got 2 balls of Annabel Fox yarn in Ginger & Mustard from a gal in Denmark...those two were basically the only two colors that I was not able to substitute with any other yarn...as soon as a check I'm expecting arrives, I'll place an order for the rest of the colors & will pick up my one last ball of yarn (a Jo Sharp yarn) from a not-so-local yarn shop in a week or so... there's a SMALL chance I may want to get another yarn for the background yarn...the foreground yarns are all DK yarns... the background yarn that I'm using is a green Donegal yarn...I THINK it's the smaller worsted weight yarn, but I need to wash the swatch I did of the Skeleton section of the pattern & see whether or not the DK yarns look okay after washing or if the DK yarns get swallowed up by the Donegal worsted weight yarn... the Donegal yarn LOOKS thin now, but it's supposed to bloom after washing...not sure what I'll use if the Donegal doesn't work... I may do Magic Carpet from Children's Collection by Alice or Jade Starmore first since it's intarsia & it's smaller...may convert it into a vest, but I need to discuss it with the recipients first! (Yes, recipients plural...unless no one complains if I just do a vest for Harrison...) Some good news: Littleface, one of our almost-3-year-old cats who had been missing the last 3 or 4 days showed up today... in good shape, but she was HUNGRY! I wonder where she was. I'd LIKE to be able to keep all 5 of our cats inside, but the 2 orange girl-cats may not cooperate... #
